Insurance for School Remodel Leads to Lawsuit

Travelers Insurance is being sued by a contractor who alleges that the insurance firm’s actions lead to the contractor defaulting on a project. Reginella Construction was the prime contractor on a $45.8 million remodel of the Moon Area School District’s former high school, in Moon Township, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The building is slated to be repurposed as a middle school and the old middle school will be demolished. Attorneys for Reginella allege that Travelers interfered with payments, leading to the default. Reginella claims the renovation was more than eighty percent complete when the school board fired them from the project.
